Ingredients
- ½ cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans optional
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350° F (175°C).
- Grease the bottom only of an 8" square pan.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter, stirring every 20 seconds or so.
- Mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until blended. Beat in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Pour into greased pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25 – 30 minutes until center is set on top and a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out slightly gooey. Do not overcook.
